Hi, I'm Loreen — I Help Families Find Their Footing When It Matters Most
Some callings find you through lived experience — and that's exactly how Family Roots came to be.
I grew up on Whidbey Island, and my roots here run deep. My parents have called this community home for 48 years. Over the past year, I've walked alongside them as they navigated the next stage of life — and through that journey, I gained an intimate understanding of what families on this Island truly face.
Island living is beautiful, but it comes with real challenges for seniors and the families who love them. Waiting weeks to see a doctor. Losing the freedom that comes with driving. Leaving a home filled with decades of memories. These aren't abstract problems to me — they're personal ones.
I bring to this work more than a decade of life transitions coaching, rooted in a simple but powerful belief: that the best decisions come from knowing what you value most. Paired with 15 years of professional project management experience, I help families move through complex, emotionally charged transitions with clarity, structure, and a steady hand.
What drives me is the same thing that drew me back to this island: a deep love for this community and the people in it. I approach every family I work with the way I'd want someone to show up for my own — with empathy, compassion, and a genuine commitment to honoring the life they've built.

Whidbey Island is home.
And helping your family feel at home in whatever comes next — that's my work.

My Values
Community
I believe in strengthening the people and places around us. Community means building genuine relationships, supporting local needs, and creating a sense of belonging where clients, partners, and neighbors all feel valued.
Compassion
I lead with empathy, kindness, and understanding in every interaction. Compassion means listening well, treating people with care, and making decisions that consider the well-being of my clients, their families and the wider community.
Family
We value the trust, loyalty, and support that define a strong family culture. Family means treating people with respect, standing by one another through challenges, and creating an environment where everyone feels connected and cared for.
